AI Training for Russian-Speaking Teams in 2026: ChatGPT Availability, Local Models and Transferable Skills

Quick answer

ChatGPT is not officially available in Russia: OpenAI does not list Russia as a supported country, and Russia's new AI law is steering some sectors towards domestic models such as GigaChat and Alice AI. The most useful AI training for Russian-speaking teams therefore focuses on skills that transfer across tools: clear prompting, checking answers, protecting data and building repeatable workflows. Parikshit Khanna runs such sessions online in English, subject to eligibility and payment checks.

New research, October 2026

  • ChatGPT availability: Russia is not on OpenAI's list of supported countries for ChatGPT, and OpenAI warns that use from unsupported locations may lead to account suspension. OpenAI Help Center

  • Russia's AI law: Federal Law No. 243-FZ on artificial intelligence took effect on 1 September 2026; a draft government resolution would steer certain sectors, such as public services, education, healthcare and critical infrastructure, towards sovereign or national models like GigaChat or Alice AI from 2027.
