Confirm your actual account access with IT before delivery. Record the app, source files and review owner for each exercise. If a feature is unavailable, use an agreed alternative and mark the feature as not practised. Licence purchase and technical configuration should be scoped separately from facilitation.

Suggested training prompt using fictional or approved redacted material:
Using this fictional budget and actuals table, identify the five largest absolute variances. Show the amount, percentage, period and source columns. Do not infer a business cause from the numbers alone. Put possible explanations in a separate questions list for the finance manager to validate.
How to run the exercise
Include one missing value, one reversed sign and one inconsistent date in the practice file. Ask learners to find and resolve these issues before writing the commentary. Keep calculation checking separate from language polishing so a fluent explanation cannot conceal a faulty number.
How to assess the result
Track reconciliation differences, unsupported causal statements, correction time and whether the final note identifies the reporting period and units. Use a second reviewer for the capstone.

Can Copilot approve journal entries?
The training does not delegate posting or approval authority. Any production-system action needs the organisation's established controls and separate authorisation.
Can we use confidential financial statements?
Use approved redacted practice files and follow company policy. The workshop should not require unrestricted access to sensitive finance folders.
What is a good first finance use case?
A bounded variance explanation using a small, validated table. It is easier to inspect than an end-to-end reporting automation.
