Managers can practise turning approved meeting material into a clear record of decisions, actions and unresolved questions. Copilot should help organise the evidence while participants confirm what was actually agreed.

Microsoft guidance to check before practice
Microsoft's Teams guidance says post-meeting Copilot questions about meeting content depend on an available transcript and the configured access.
Confirm your actual account access with IT before delivery. Record the app, source files and review owner for each exercise. If a feature is unavailable, use an agreed alternative and mark the feature as not practised. Licence purchase and technical configuration should be scoped separately from facilitation.

Create a decision and action register from this practice transcript. Use columns for decision, supporting statement, owner, due date and unresolved question. Treat suggestions as suggestions unless the transcript records agreement. Use 'not specified' for an absent owner or date.
How to run the exercise
Start with a mock meeting so recording and transcription permissions can be tested safely. Give participants examples where someone proposes an action but nobody accepts it. Review whether the draft incorrectly converts discussion into a commitment.
How to assess the result
Check the number of invented commitments, missing decisions and ambiguous owners. Follow up after a week to see whether the register helped the team complete the agreed actions.

Does every Teams meeting have a usable transcript?
No. Check meeting policy, consent, organiser settings and access before selecting a transcript-based exercise.
Can Copilot assign responsibility for us?
It can draft a register, but the manager and participants must confirm responsibility. Do not accept invented owners.
Should every follow-up be sent automatically?
Start with reviewed drafts. Automation should be separately scoped with approval, access controls and an owner.
