Google Ads training that starts with business goals

Google Ads can bring valuable enquiries, or it can spend a budget on clicks that never become customers. The difference is rarely one secret setting or a clever trick. It usually comes from a clear objective, sensible campaign structure, ads that match the landing page and, above all, conversion data the system can trust. This programme teaches that full chain, so your team can plan, build, measure and review campaigns in a way that sales teams and leadership can understand and question.

Google Ads is now heavily automated. Performance Max can reach inventory across Search, YouTube, Display, Discover, Gmail and Maps from one campaign. AI Max for Search campaigns adds search term matching, text customisation and final URL expansion. Smart Bidding uses Google AI to set bids in each auction towards your conversion goals. These tools only work as well as the goals, assets and conversion signals you give them, so your team learns what to supply, what to control and what to check.

Every exercise uses a realistic business example or an account you have authorised for training. Nothing goes live with real money unless you approve a separate budget in writing, and ad spend is never part of the training fee. Interface labels change often, and Google has been renaming some Smart Bidding strategies in 2026. So the programme teaches the reasoning behind each choice, which stays useful when screens change, and every module is checked against current Google Ads Help pages.

How the programme runs

Five steps make sure the sessions reflect your account, offer and team experience. Scope, dates and fees are confirmed in a written proposal before booking, and ad spend is never included.

  1. Requirement discussion: We discuss your goals, campaign types in use, team roles and the problems you want solved.

  2. Written proposal: You receive modules, format, deliverables, dates and fees in writing before anything is confirmed.

  3. Scenario or account setup: We prepare a practice scenario or agree limited, read-only access to an authorised account.

  4. Hands-on sessions: Explain, demonstrate and practise each topic, then review outputs against current Google Ads Help guidance.

  5. Review and action plan: Teams leave with a conversion map, test plan, report template and 30-day review schedule.

Who this Google Ads training is for

Business owners and founders. Owners who run ads themselves or pay an agency. They learn to set clear goals, read reports, ask better questions and notice when spend is not becoming qualified enquiries.

Performance marketing teams. Executives and managers who build and optimise campaigns. They learn structured account planning, conversion setup, bidding choices and controlled, documented testing of Google's AI features.

Sales leaders. Heads of sales who receive leads from Google Ads. They learn how lead quality feedback, offline conversion data and clear qualification rules improve what campaigns optimise for.

Agencies and freelancers. Teams managing several client accounts. They learn a consistent briefing, audit, reporting and change log process that makes reviews faster and client conversations much clearer.

Ecommerce and D2C teams. Teams selling online who need to understand Performance Max, product feeds and conversion value, and how to judge results beyond a single headline return figure.

HR, L&D and corporate teams. Teams promoting events, admissions, launches or hiring drives. They learn to plan focused campaigns with clear goals, tracking and budgets, even when ads are not their daily job.

What your team will be able to do

  • Write a campaign brief with audience, offer, objective, location, budget assumptions and approved claims.

  • Choose between Search, Performance Max, Demand Gen and YouTube campaigns for a stated business goal.

  • Organise Search campaigns around intent groups, match types, negative keywords and matching landing pages.

  • Draft responsive search ads with AI, then check every claim for accuracy, policy fit and brand tone.

  • Plan conversion tracking with primary and secondary actions, enhanced conversions and offline lead feedback.

  • Select a Smart Bidding strategy that fits your conversion data and explain its assumptions to stakeholders.

  • Evaluate AI Max and Performance Max with a written hypothesis, clear controls and a fair test period.

  • Build a monthly report and change log connecting spend to enquiries, qualified leads and value.

Eight practical Google Ads modules

The modules run from planning to reporting, with measurement before automation. Each ends with a working output, and modules can be shortened, extended or reordered to suit your campaigns and experience level.

Module 1: Business goals and campaign briefs

Define the product or service, customer, location, offer and the action you want. Separate awareness, enquiry and qualified opportunity goals. Agree what sales needs before accepting a lead, and record budget assumptions, approvers and claims the business can prove. A strong brief prevents much wasted spend before any campaign is built.

Exercise: Write a campaign brief for one approved offer with a single primary objective. Output: Campaign brief with objective and constraints

Module 2: Search campaigns, intent and keywords

Group search themes by customer need instead of placing every keyword in one ad group. Practise match types, search term review and negative keywords. Spot queries showing the wrong audience, wrong location or research-only intent. Learn where AI Max for Search campaigns can extend reach through search term matching, and what your team must still review.

Exercise: Group sixty sample searches into intent clusters and justify a negative keyword list. Output: Search campaign outline and negative keyword list

Module 3: Ad copy, assets and AI drafting

Write several ad directions from real customer problems, benefits and proof. Use AI assistants with a clear brief covering offer, tone, constraints and banned claims. Check drafts for accuracy, brand fit and policy compliance, and match them to the landing page. Add relevant assets such as sitelinks and images, and record approved versions.

Exercise: Draft ten headlines and three descriptions, then verify each claim against the brief. Output: Approved ad copy bank and review checklist

Module 4: Landing pages and lead quality

Check that the headline, offer, location and next step match the ad. Review mobile layout, signs of slow loading, enquiry fields and proof. Separate useful qualification questions from unnecessary friction, and decide what a designer, developer or business owner must change. A relevant page helps visitors and your conversion data.

Exercise: Review a sample landing page at mobile size and list fixes by owner. Output: Landing page improvement brief

Module 5: Conversion tracking and enhanced conversions

Decide which actions deserve measurement: purchases, enquiries, calls, bookings or offline sales. Separate primary conversions used for bidding from secondary ones kept for observation. Understand how enhanced conversions send hashed first-party data, and how enhanced conversions for leads connect offline sales back to campaigns, always with proper consent and approved data handling.

Exercise: Map enquiries, qualified leads and closed sales into a conversion plan with test steps. Output: Conversion map and tracking test checklist

Module 6: Smart Bidding, budgets and learning

Compare Target CPA, Target ROAS, Maximise conversions and Maximise conversion value, and match each to the data you actually have. Use sample budgets to link cost, conversion rate, lead volume and value. Separate planning assumptions from observed results, and allow for learning periods, conversion delays and the risk of changing too much at once.

Exercise: Compare two budget scenarios and write the bidding rationale for each. Output: Budget scenario sheet and bidding rationale

Module 7: Performance Max, Demand Gen and YouTube

Learn when goal-based Performance Max fits, what assets, audience signals and conversion goals it needs, and how negative keywords, brand exclusions and channel reporting support control. Compare Demand Gen for image and video ads across YouTube, Shorts, Discover, Gmail and the Display Network, and YouTube formats such as skippable in-stream, bumper and Shorts ads.

Exercise: Score three campaign types against one goal and write a test hypothesis. Output: Campaign suitability matrix and experiment brief

Module 8: Reporting, testing and optimisation routine

Build a short monthly review: what happened, likely causes and next steps. Compare spend, conversions, qualified leads and value using a sample dataset. A high click-through rate does not prove commercial value. Review search terms, asset results and lead feedback before acting, keep a dated change log and assign an owner to each test.

Exercise: Read a sample report, record one change and define how to judge it. Output: Report template, change log and 30-day plan

Google Ads training across India

Google Ads in India covers a wide range of advertisers, from local clinics and coaching institutes to real estate developers, manufacturers and fast-growing D2C brands. Each faces different challenges: lead quality in real estate and education, strong competition in metro cities, calls and WhatsApp conversations that never get recorded as conversions, and budgets that need careful planning. The programme uses examples from your sector, with Indian locations, offers and sales processes.

Sessions run live online for teams anywhere in India, or onsite at your office in Delhi NCR and other major cities, usually as one or two day blocks for outstation programmes. Parikshit has trained teams at Arvind Fashions, Sheela Foam (Sleepwell), RMZ, Malabar Group and Godrej Properties, and has delivered sessions at IIT Delhi, IIT Roorkee and IIT Guwahati. Online batches use the same exercises, breakout work and review steps.

Onsite cities: Delhi NCR, Mumbai, Bengaluru, Pune, Hyderabad, Chennai, Kolkata, Ahmedabad, Jaipur, Chandigarh, Lucknow, Guwahati, plus live online sessions anywhere in India.

Responsible use of AI and data in Google Ads

  1. Never upload customer lists or lead data without consent and your company's written approval.

  2. Check every AI-written headline and description for accuracy before it goes live in an account.

  3. Do not use AI to create claims, offers, prices or reviews the business cannot prove.

  4. Use enhanced conversions and offline imports only with proper consent and approved data handling.

  5. Give AI tools only the access they need, and keep a human approver for every change.

Frequently asked questions

Is this Google Ads training suitable for beginners?

Yes. A foundation track covers goals, Search campaign structure, ad writing, conversion tracking and reading reports. Teams running large accounts can request an advanced agenda on Performance Max, Demand Gen, Smart Bidding, testing and lead quality. Share participants' experience before the proposal.

Can we work on our own Google Ads account during training?

Yes, if access and scope are agreed in advance. Many teams start with a practice scenario, then review their own account in later sessions. No campaign is launched and no spend is approved during training unless you agree to it separately in writing.

What is the difference between AI Max and Performance Max?

AI Max for Search campaigns is a set of features inside a Search campaign, including search term matching, text customisation and final URL expansion. Performance Max is a separate goal-based campaign type that can reach inventory across Search, YouTube, Display, Discover, Gmail and Maps from one campaign.

Do you cover YouTube and Demand Gen campaigns?

Yes. Module 7 covers Demand Gen, which runs image and video ads across YouTube including Shorts, Discover, Gmail and the Google Display Network, plus YouTube formats such as skippable in-stream, bumper and Shorts ads. Teams learn to set goals, prepare assets and judge results beyond views.

Why do you teach conversion tracking before bidding?

Smart Bidding strategies such as Target CPA and Target ROAS use Google AI to set bids towards your conversion goals. If tracking counts the wrong actions, duplicates leads or misses offline sales, automation optimises for the wrong outcome. Getting measurement right first makes automation far more useful.

Does the fee include ad spend or account management?

No. Ad spend, paid software and ongoing account management are never included in the training fee. The programme trains your team to plan and manage campaigns themselves. Any practice with live spend needs a separate budget that you approve and control.

Can teams in different cities train together?

Yes. Live online sessions work well for teams spread across cities, with breakout exercises and shared templates. Mixed formats are also possible, such as an onsite workshop at head office followed by online sessions for regional teams. The proposal sets out the plan.

Will the training increase our leads or return on ad spend?

No result is promised. Outcomes depend on your market, offer, budget, landing pages, data quality and how consistently the team applies what it learns. The training gives your team a clearer process for planning, measuring and testing, so decisions rest on evidence.

Which industries do you cover with examples?

Examples can be built for real estate, education, healthcare, retail, D2C ecommerce, manufacturing, B2B services, hospitality and local businesses. Share your sector, offers and sales process before the proposal, and exercises will use your locations, customer types and qualification rules.

How do we enquire, and how are fees confirmed?

Send a WhatsApp message or email with your company, team size, campaign types in use, goals and preferred dates. Parikshit then shares a written proposal with modules, format, deliverables, dates and fees. Fees depend on scope, duration, format and location, so they are not published here.
